Ulster Bank Awards
So a couple of weeks ago I was parked outside a petrol station, once again participating in
some dashboard dining when I took a lovely phone call from Ulster Bank, telling me I was a regional finalist in their Business Achievers Awards – ‘no way’, says I, and not a thing to wear.
The Ulster Bank Business Achievers Awards celebrate the spirit of excellence and innovation of some of Ireland’s most successful entrepreneurs, so as you can imagine I was chuffed to be in the final listing for Leinster.
The day of the awards, at the very impressive Aviva Stadium was a little nerve racking, but after some coffee and something to eat I felt better. My competition was stiff, very established businesses, but to be there alongside them was such a thrill – and of course I has plenty of time to chat about farm safety.
Sean O’Rourke was the MC and as my category was called, Agri Business, each of us were brought on stage to receive our certificates, (woo hoo something for the wall!!).
McCormack Farms took home the main honours and I have to say very worthy winners, a wonderful enterprise.
As they say, there is always next year!!!
