Having worked independently on farm safety, with peer-to-peer projects, growing a community of peers, advocates and educators, AgriKids and Irish Rural Link are delighted to introduce a community led strategy that will assist school teachers in delivering farm safety education to their pupils with the help and support of their local community as well as new teaching resources.
Engage, Educate & Empower Training Manual
We have put together a manual of the key insights and learnings acquired by AgriKids in delivering farm safety workshops in schools and communities over the years. By sharing this insight and inspiring a new approach to how we deliver farm safety education in our schools, we can all play a special role in creating a safer future on our farms.
This event might be part of a bigger safety and wellbeing event at the school, or it could be something smaller, with a classroom or a group of classes coming together.
Whatever the format of the event,this guide will help the reader co-deliver an event that will engage the audience, educate them on aspects of farming and farm safety and (most importantly) empower them to bring this message home. This may be through the supplying worksheets or creating a homework exercise as part of the event.
Suitable for teachers, farmers, parents local agri representatives, members of An Garda Siochana or other similar public outreach bodies, the manual has been collated through help and insight of an advisory panel of farmers, farm accident survivors, An Garda Siochana, community development officers and teachers.

Created by Farmer4Safety EIP Agri project in 2023, this fun farm safety song has been updated with a new animated video to help children sing along and have fun while also learning key farm safety tips! Be warned though, it's seriously catchy!!!

AgriKids Farm Safe Fun: In 2016 the AgriKids 'Farm Safe Fun' app was launched. Suitable for 5+, this original game has received a makeover with the return of the original and hugely popular 'Dodge the Dangers'; 'Stop the Bales'; 'Blackberry Picking, games.
AgriKids AgriEscape: New to AgriKids is the fast paced endless runner style games, AgriEscape, which tests players ability to avoid oncoming dangers on the farm and to collect the safety tools (Hi vis, helmets, etc), to help them along the way. Watch out for oncoming machinery, stay out of the cow's 'kick zones' while also avoiding falling bales.
